Mrs. Stephen Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Stephen Smith, the former Emerita "Babe" Savoie, 86 were held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on November 27, 1998.
Burial followed in Believue Memorial Cemetery in Opelousas with Father Fred Swenson officiating.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. on November 26.
Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1912 in Bristol, where she resided as a homemaker.
Her death was a result of an auto accident that occurred at 9:04 a.m. on November 24.
She died at Doctor's Hospital in Opelousas at 10:55 a.m. that same day.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lula Mae Thibodeaux of Carencro and Mrs. Joyce Darbonne of Erath one sister, Curita Comeaux of Church Point; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Guidry's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
