From her obituary that is still online (but not posted here out of respect for family privacy) and from what I know of her:
Mrs. Byrd, 35, of Spotsylvania County, died of breast cancer Saturday, April 20, 2002, at her home. She had worked for a number of years as a computer technician for PEC Solutions. She was a member of Piney Branch Baptist Church.
She was survived by her husband, Alvin "Peco" Byrd; a daughter and Alvin's two children; her parents; her two sisters and three brothers; and her maternal grandmother.
In closing, the gravestone says my sentiments perfectly:
"Gone from our sight
But never our memories
Gone from our touch
But never our hearts".
