Mildred (Shore) Doty, age 90, died Oct.23, 2010 at the Golden Living Center of Plymouth. She was the devoted wife of the late Drew George Doty. Born in New Bedford, Oct. 23, 1920, she was the beloved daughter of John and Anna (Miller) Shore. She was educated in North Carolina and also was a graduate of Bryant and Stratton College in Boston. She moved to Plymouth in 2006, previously residing in Scituate for many years. Mrs. Doty was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed golfing as a few of her favorite hobbies. At age 70, she went to work for a Lamp and Shade Company, where she enjoyed working with various designers for several years. She was closely devoted to her family whom she held close to her heart. She will also be missed by her dogs Gigi and Chiffon. Mildred was the loving mother of John Doty and his wife Geraldine of Melbourne Beach, Fla. and Marsha Dinneen and her husband Donald of Plymouth. She was also the cherished grandmother of Amy Whitford of Cambridge, Lisa Grenier of Las Vegas ,Nev. and the late John Doty Jr. She was the great-grandmother of Candace Grenier of Las Vegas. The funeral will take place Tuesday morning, at 11 a.m., at the Christ Church Episcopal, 149 Court St., Plymouth. Friends may call at the Cartmell Funeral Home, Tuesday morning, at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate.
