Funeral services for Edward H. Ewart were conducted from the residence 1700 Kemper Street, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with interment at Spring Hill Cemetery. Dr. R. H. Potts of Memorial Church was the officiating minister, assisted by Dr. R. A. MacFarland of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church. The hymns, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Home of The Soul" were sung at the house.
The services at the grave were concluded by Dr. Potts and the Garland-Rodes Camp of Confederate Veterans.
The active pall bearers were, Dr. A. W. Terrell, B. E. Hughes, C. S. Hutter, E. E. Marsh, A. B. Lacy, A. F. Thomas of this city and Blair J. Fishourn of Roanoke.
The honorary pall bearers were, J. F. Harvey, R. G. Wood, R. T. Tanner, T. C. Miller, G. O. Revely, J. T. Campbell and A. H. Plecker, members of Garland-Rodes Camp.
The flowers were carried by R. W. Shelton, W. N. Hall, C. E. Phillips, I. R. Sprigg, J. L. Burruss, A. L. Templeton, Mrs. C. W. Stewart, Mrs. L. W. Rucker, Mrs. Bowling, Miss Maggie Rhodes, Miss Anne Fishburne, the Misses Shelton and other friends of the family.
