STRASBURG - Laura E. Bauer, 92, of Strasburg died 9:42 a.m. Saturday (June 17, 2000) in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Grace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Bauer was born May 2, 1908, in Strasburg, the daughter of William and Paulina Wangelien VonBehren. She worked for many years at Renshaw's Grocery Store in Strasburg and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She married Orville G. Bauer March 17, 1928, in Shelbyville. He died on May 20, 1990.
Surviving are her son, Dale W. Bauer Sr. and wife Georga of Shelbyville; daughters, Audrey Dilley of Lansing; Lorena Thomas of Lerna; Marilyn Thompson of Mattoon; Arlene Koontz and husband Dale of Lakewood; brother, Walter VonBehren of Nixa, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Leslie Bauer, four brothers and one sister
