Mary Rogers was my paternal grandmother. Raised in the hills of Kentucky, she married Shelby Rogers on Dec 24, 1920. She gave birth to her first daughter (Ona) in Kentucky as well as her first son (Claude), before the family relocated to Hamilton, Ohio. There, she had two more children (Clyde and Rosa) during the 1920s. The Rogers family lived at 128 Linden Street, then 714 Pine Street while the children were being raised. Later, Mary and Shelby lived on 7th Street for many years before moving to their final home on Heaton Avenue. Mary loved country music, was a great cook and a gracious hostess at family gatherings for many years. She was a devout Christian and a dear soul and passed away in 1974.
