Dallas Upton Birch, son of the late Will and Nellie Blodgett Birch, was born May 10, 1883, at Scottsville, Kansas, and passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at 11 a.m. on April 21, 1946 at McCloud, California. At the time he was called he was aged 62 years, 11 months and 11 days.
After growing to manhood in the Scottsville neighborhood he went to Detroit, Michigan, about eight years ago, returning to live at Jewell a couple of years, and then went to California, which had since been his home. In the fall of 1944 he came to the Old Home Community, and on December 6 of that year, at Scottsville, was married to Mary E. Jones, who survives him.
He is also survived by one brother and one sister, Lester Birch, Scottsville, and Mrs. Stella Allen, Beloit. A wide circle of saddened friends join in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones.
