Bessie G. Dodd, 71, a long-time Wenatchee area resident, died Wednesday afternoon, Apr 1, 1987, in the Highline Convalescent Center, East Wenatchee.
She was born to Orville and Lulu Adams Griffith on July 14, 1915, at Riverside. She received her early education at Okanogan and graduated with honors from Okanogan High School in 1931. She was an accomplished pianist and received music scholarship offers from a number of colleges and universities.
She married Raymond Griffiths in 1933 at Okanogan. They settled at Malott where they owned and operated a grocery store and bar.
Mr. Griffiths died in 1956 and she moved to the Wenatchee area.
She married Lester Dodd on April 10 1967, at Wenatchee. Mr. Dodd died in July of 1975.
Survivors include a son, Harold Griffiths, a sister-in-law, Vivian Griffiths, a grandson, Todd Griffiths, and a granddaughter, Christine Griffiths, all of Wenatchee. Mrs. Dodd was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
