Mary Anne was born in Coshquin, Templemore, County Derry to Thomas Wallace and his wife.
On 20 December 1877 she married William Dunlop in Coshquin. They settled in Derry where William drove a horse-drawn bread wagon before later owning his own grocery store at Marlborough Terrace and Lone Moor Road.
The family lived at 15 Francis Street where their three sons were born, within walking distance of Second Derry Presbyterian on Strand Road.
Sadly Mary Anne died soon after the birth of their third son.
