Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Little, 84, of Cookeville, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Winningham officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Little died Friday, Jan. 25 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He worked in the finance business most of his life and retired from Farmers Home Administration. He was a member of Cookeville Christian Church, a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps, and a member of the V.F.W. & American Legion, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Tennessee Farm Bureau.

Born November 10, 1917, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Huey V. and Nan (Fletcher) Little. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ninia Dean Beaty; and two brothers, John Dennie Little and Donald Little.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Little, Cookeville; a son, Bruce Averitt, Memphis; four brothers, Champ Little and Ray Little, both of California, and Emitt Little and Dock Little, both of Cookeville; two sisters, Geneva Crabtree, Monroe, and Norma Ruth Brown, Sufford, VA; a granddaughter, Vicki Lynn Morris; and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Robbins, Ralph Robbins, Dale Beaty, Mike Beaty, Roger Crabtree, and Mike Aldridge.
