Graveside services for Evelyn Virginia Ricketts James, 78, of Palestine, TX will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Booneville City Cemetery, Booneville, MS., under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, TX.

Mrs. James passed away Tuesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 19, 1930 in Booneville, MS, to Willie Clovis and Myrtle Theo Cooksey Ricketts. She was a former employee of Kroger Food Store and a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Palestine. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents and husband Clifford Hugh James.

She is survived by one son, William Lynn James and his wife Joy of Palestine, grandson Zachary Lynn James of Palestine, granddaughter Amy Coates and husband Steve of Nacogdoches, great grandchildren, Tiffany and Caylee Scroggins both of Nacogdoches, other family members Sammy and Maxine Mullican of Palestine. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, TX and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home with graveside following at Booneville City Cemetery in Booneville, MS
