COOPER. Mich., March 26.—(Special) —Mrs. Emily E. Carpenter passed away at her home Tuesday morning after a long illness. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Niagara, N. Y., in 1833; came to Cooper with her parents in 1836 and has since lived on the farm where she died. She led a lovely Christian life and lived to make the world brighter. She was married to James Carpenter in 1854 and lived a beautiful wedded life. There were no children born of this marriage and the aged husband survives her, but is very ill.
