According to the Collins Family History written by Fannie Collins in 1936, "Elizabeth Collins was remarkable for her beauty, even in old age. A man once told her granddaughter, Lizzie Isaac-Lawrence, that she was more beautiful than any of her daughters, even when old. She had gorgeous, expressive, deep brown eyes. Her personality is said to have equaled her physical attractiveness, for she was mild, gracious, patient, the embodiment of the Christian vitures. She was a Quakeress and a most consistent member, as was her husband and children. The "plain" language was used in the home, and all attended "Quaker Meeting House" on Sunday, or "first day", as well as on Wednesday. Up till 1900 the small "foot-stove" was in existence that her husband tucked in the "cutter" in winter to warm her feet when going to church. Meeting houses were unwarmed in those days. She was beloved by all who knew her, and the idol of her family."
