Mrs. Atwell owned and operated Lucille's Dress Shop, Excelsior Springs, from 1948 to 1968. Earlier, she worked for the J. C. Penney Co. She was a Methodist. She was born in Humphreys, Mo., and had lived in Excelsior Springs since 1927.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lorene Bailey of the home; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pritchard Chapel, Excelsior Springs; burial in Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs." The Kansas City Times, July 5, 1985
