SUDDEN SUMMONS FOR "TED" CAVE

One of Charlotte's Most Popular Young Men Passes Suddenly.
Mr. Theodore M. Cave, better known to his friends as "Ted" Cave, one of the city's most promising and popular young business men, passed away suddenly at the home of his brother, Mr. P. M. Cave, 1900 East Seventh street extension, yesterday morning shortly after 4 o'clock, death being due to heart failure.
Mr. Cave was 28 years of age, a native of Virginia and a leader in the circle in which he moved, prominent alike in club and fraternal circles. He was associated in business with his brother, Mr. P. M. Cave, who is president of the Model Steam Laundry and was highly esteemed for his fine traits of heart and mind. A more genial and affable young man could hardly be found anywhere and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. The end came with shocking suddenness and brought sorrow to many hearts.
The deceased is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Goldie Cave and two brothers, Mr. Pat Cave of this city and Mr. C. M. Cave of Walls, La. Owing to the inability of Mr. C. M. Cave to reach the city before tonight, the funeral will not be held until tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at the home on East Seventh street. The service will be in charge of Rev. harris Mallinchrodt, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, of which the deceased was a member assisted by Rev. Francis M. Osborne rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter. The interment will be at Elmwood.
Mr. Cave's death was altogether unexpected. He had been suffering a little from time to time with his heart but nothing seriious was anticipated. Monday night he left some friends about 11:30 o'clock, caught a car and went home and to bed. A little after 4 o'clock, his brother, Mr. Pat Cave, who occupied a room nearby, heard someone by his bed. He arose and found Ted who appeared to be in distress. When asked as to the trouble, he replied that he was not well. Mr. Cave then told him to return to bed and that he woudl doubtless feel better shortly. As the young man turned to return to his room, he topped over and expired in a few minutes. Miss Williams, a trained nurse in the house, was called and physicians summoned but nothing could be done. The young man died within a few moments after he was stricken.
Mr. Cave was a Mason of high rank, being a member of Carolina Consistory and of Oasis Temple of the Shrine. He was prominent in all fraternal affairs and belonged to various lodges. He was alike popular with all.
