Isaac S. Adney Succumbed After Long Illness.

Was Identified With Flour Milling Business For Many Years
The Funeral.
Isaac S Adney one of the best-known citizens of Boone county died last night at 10 o'clock at his home 4 24 East Washington St. the city. Diabetes was the cause of his death.
Isaac Sylvester Adney was born your liberty Indiana on February 3, 1843 he was the son of John Adney and Catherine Albaugh. He had one brother Amos, and three sisters, Nancy Hollingsworth, Lydia Adair, and Susanna, all of whom are deceased.
At an early age he moved with his parents to Tippecanoe County where his father engaged in the milling business. Afterward they move to Boone county and then his father operated the first Flour mill ever constructed in Boone County. From youth until late in life he was interested in the milling business operating both grain and sawmills at different times. He installed the first roller mill in Boone County in the brick building formerly used as a woolen mill on N. Meridian St. which had recently been wrecked to make way for a school building.
Always interested in farming in his later life he devoted himself almost exclusively to farming and at the time of his death had considerable farming interests. He was always an active businessman up to the time he was confined from illness.
On April 9, 1865 he was married to Louisa Williams of Clinton County who died on February 17, 1868. Of this union one child was born Mary C. Fall who survives. On May 23, 1877 he united in marriage with Eva L Brown who is yet living. Four children were born of this marriage Earle M., Roy W., Frank B., and Estella Hornaday, all of Lebanon.
At one time he was a candidate for treasure of been County but was defeated. He was elected Commissioner of Boone County however which office he held from 1889 to 1892. He was a member of Lebanon Lodge I. O. O. F. at the time of his death which membership he had held for many years.
The funeral which will be private will be held at the family residence at 424 East Washington St. at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. The family requests no flowers.
