FAIRMOUNT — Burnadean Adams, 81, died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009. She was born in Howard County, to the late Elmer and Fern (Allen) Hayes and lived in the Fairmount/Swayzee area most of her life. She was a graduate of Marion College and received her Masters Degree from Ball State University.

She married Milford Adams on January 20, 1946. He survives.

Burnadean was employed at the Marion VA Medical Center for 20 years, taught nursing at Marion College for six years and was the Director of Nursing at various healthcare facilities. She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God. Burnadean enjoyed handwork, flower gardening, genealogy, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Suvivors include her husband, Milford Adams; four children, Trudy (Roger) Gray, Fairmount, Ind., Cindy Horn, Marion; Jon (Connie) Adams, Osceola, Ind., Brenda Gallo, Houston, Texas; two sisters, Geraldine DeDecker and Wilda Webb, both of Fairmount, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great–grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and one sister.

Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Lighthouse Assembly of God, Marion with Pastor Jerry Galloway and Pastor Johnny Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Ind.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday September 17, 2009 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 North Baldwin Avenue, Marion.
