Ruby E. (Hensley) Fink-Ford - 87

Ruby E. (Hensley) Fink-Ford, of both the Yorktown and Redkey communities, 87, passed away Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010 at Albany Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born December 29, 1922 in Muncie the daughter of Arthur and Naomi (Stephens) Hensley, attended Muncie City schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School. Ruby worked at Stillman's Department Store in downtown Muncie while she attended classes at Indiana Business College, graduating with a business degree.

Ruby's thirty-five year employment with Marsh Supermarkets began at the original Marsh Store on West Jackson Street, although she was a bookkeeper for many of those years at the Marsh facility in Yorktown until her retirement.

Her special passion was for growing and tending her flowers. She was known for her extraordinarily beautiful African Violets. She and Max farmed in the Redkey area. Together they enjoyed many years of square dancing and travel.

Ruby leaves her brother, David Hensley (wife, Ruann), Yorktown; seven nieces, Jill Young (husband, Paul), Barbara Turner (husband, Rick), Shari Potter (husband, John), Margaret "Marggy" Hensley, JoEllen Lee (husband, Robert), Tariena Cofield, and Tamarah Forbes; and three nephews, Jeffrey A. Hensley, Thomas Dragoo, and Todd Dragoo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Jean Dragoo; a brother, Robert Hensley; her first husband, Mark Fink; and her second husband, Max Ford.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Ruby's niece, Pastor Margaret Ruby Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery.
