Frank McGinnis, 56, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at his home in Roxbury, his family was by his side. He died after fighting cancer for over three years.

He was born on June 11, 1954 in Schenectady, the son of Thomas and Barbara McGinnis.
He met his wife, Cheryl, when they were only teenagers. They were married 33 years ago on October 1.

Surviving are his wife, his children, Amy Sue Courtemanche, Jennifer Kaye Biruk, Julie Marie Vasquez, Frankie McGinnis Jr., Donny McGinnis, CaroleLee McGinnis, Kathy Rae McGinnis; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Tom McGinnis and John McGinnis; two sisters, Chris Petrucco and Barb Tidball. Also surviving are thousands of friends .
"The beauty of the soul shines out when a man bears with composure one heavy mischance after another, not because he does not feel them, but because he is a man of high and heroic temper." This was Frank. He bore not only his own but walked with his friends through their misfortunes.
He has forever changed many of their lives. He was predeceased by his parents and a younger brother, David McGinnis. He is with them now.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. at the McGinnis residence at 54030 state Highway 30, Roxbury. All who knew him and loved him are welcome. Arrangements are by the Miller Funeral Home.
