Marjorie L. Bowman, 90, of Aurora, formerly of Castle Rock, passed away Monday, September 13th at the Life Care Center of Aurora. Marjorie has lived the last 26 years at Heather Gardens in Aurora. Prior to that she grew up and lived in Castle Rock. Marjorie was a native of Douglas County, born on the family ranch in Louviers and moved to Castle Rock at the age of 12.

She was the daughter of H. Robert and Ruth Campbell and sister of the late Dorothy Campbell. She graduated from Douglas County Schools in 1937. Marjorie met Frank D. Bowman at a Fireman's convention in Steamboat Springs, and they married in 1944.

Prior to WWII she worked for the National Biscuit Company and Nash/Kelvinator. She later assisted her father in operating Campbell Hardware Store in Castle Rock. Subsequently, she and Frank owned and operated Bowman Electric until their retirement. During their 59 years of marriage, Marjorie and Frank raised three sons; Robert, Charles, and James Bowman. Frank preceded her in death in 2003. Marjorie was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint and various bridge clubs.

Marjorie is survived by her sons; Robert of Palm Springs, California, Charles (Connie) of Littleton, Colorado and James (Anita) of Monte Vista, Colorado. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren; April Bowman, Kelly (Michael) Hornung, Christina (Graham) Parr and Steven, Jennifer, and Kimberly Bowman.

Visitation to be held Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m, and Funeral Services to be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., both at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, in Aurora, Colorado. Services to be followed by Internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, where she will be joining her husband Frank.

Memorial Donations are being suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, 3151 South Vaughn Way, Cherry Creek Place III, Suite 505, Aurora, Colorado 80014; Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, P.O. Box 3968, Gauthersburg, Maryland 20885; or to a charity of your choice.
