Survivors include: his wife, Donna Ollis Buchanan of the home, mother, Louella Sparks Buchanan of Bakersville, NC, daughter, Melissa Sue Buchanan of Asheville, NC, son, Bruce Mitchell Buchanan Jr. of the home, sister, Donna Kay Baker of New Albany, MS.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Donald Buchanan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1:00PM at the Rebels Creek Baptist Church in Bakersville, NC. G.E. Freeman will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Silver Chapel Cemetery.
