Mary M. Bing Skinner
Mary M. Bing was born in Rutland, Meigs Co., Ohio, Oct. 5, 1834. Married to Thomas Skinner in Rutland, Aug. 31, 1856. Removed to Lincoln County, Kan., in the autumn of 1866.
Mrs. S. was one of the pioneers of the west. A brave woman and good neighbor, a trusty friend, very widely respected, and deeply lamented by a large circle of sorrowing friends.
She has left a husband and five children; four boys and one girl to mourn her loss. She died in great peace on Monday morning, 2 o’clock, March 9, 1874. Funeral at their own house Tuesday 10th attended by a numerous circle of sorrowing friends and neighbors. Funeral discourse by Rev. J. Medcraft of Lincoln Center.
