John Reuben Fails was born 10 Sept 1859 in Simpson Co, MS. His father was Francis M. Fails, who died in 1863 at Port Hudson LA fighting for the Confederate Army, and his mother was Nancy Elizabeth Strength(or Stringer). He was married 1st to Matilda Elizabeth Ross(1864-1890)with whom he had 4 children, 2nd to Mary Elizabeth Williams(1861-1922)with whom he had 8 children,1 step child, and 3rd to Sudie Alpin(1881-1968)with no children. He farmed in Simpson Co MS until late in life when he worked at the sawmill in D'LO,MS. He died in D'Lo on 28 Aug 1933.
