Dr. Frederick Zenas White Jr., age 83, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Chillicothe, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at the Sherman House Hospice in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 21, 1923, the son of Frederick Z. and Florence V. Henderickson White Sr.
He served in the Naval Air Force during World War II. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion.
He was a 50-year member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite as a Third Degree Mason. He was a life member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and served as president of the Illinois State Medical Society.
Fred married Annice Lee Wilson on Aug. 19, 1945, in South Bend, Ind.
He is survived by his children, Janet (Jim) Schnitz of Salt Lake City, Utah, Don (Patricia) White of Chillicothe, Ill., Kirsten (Terry) Turner of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Tim (Amy) White of Chillicothe, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; and his son-in-law, Bob Wilmot.
In 1990, he married Judith Koch. She survives. Also surviving is his brother, Glenn (Nancie) White of Englewood, Fla.
In his continuing dedication to caring for the medical well-being of those that follow him, Dr. White has donated his body to scientific research done through the Parkinson's Foundation.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
