Funeral services for Gene Jackson, age 71, of Lake Palestine are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Frankston, with the Rev. Dennis Pridgin officiating.

Burial will be in Garden Oaks Memorial Park, Berryville.

Mr. Jackson passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, in Tyler.

He was born March 16, 1939, in Cooper.

Mr. Jackson served with the United States Marines from 1951 to 1954, was a retired police sergeant with the Odessa Police Department with 30 years of service, and was a graduate of the FBI Academy, Quantico, Va.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jackson, and parents, Jack Jackson and Vera Gertrude Turner Jackson.

Survivors include son, Terry Jackson and wife Terri of Grapevine; daughter, Teresa Todd of Lake Palestine; sister, Peggy French of Lawton, Okla.; brother, Wink Jackson and wife Donna of Early; grandchildren, Tanner and Ashley Todd, Justin Todd, Kelton Todd, Miranda Williams and Josh Jackson; great-grandchildren, Emma Todd, Braedon Todd and Brynlea Todd; nephew, Waylon Weiershausen; and special friends, Herb and Ginger Graham of Odessa.

Pallbearers will be Tanner Todd, Justin Todd, Kelton Todd, Josh Jackson, Roger Gearhart and Doc Gonzalez.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
