Caroline Wilhelmine Heidemann was the 3rd of 13 children born to Fritz Heidemann and Dorothe Buhmann. Her parents left Germany for America with their first 8 children on 13 March, 1861, and lived for a few years in Sumner County, Illinois. They then came to Saline County, Nebraska and became one of the founders of Zion Lutheran Church.

Caroline married Fred Endorf 6 Nov 1870 at Beecher City, Illinois; emigrated to Nebraska a few years later. They were the parents of 14 children: Friedrich, Miena, Henry, William, Fred, a baby who died at birth, Herman, Caroline, John, August, Dora, Frieda, Ernst and Mollie. The centennial edition of the Zion Lutheran Church (1979) mentions that their descendants at Zion included 1 daughter, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
