BREWSTER — Mary E. Kelly, 82, of Brewster died peacefully at the Cape Cod Hospital on Sept. 20, 2010, after a brief illness.Mary was born in Boston and attended St. Peter's Grammar School in Dorchester and graduated from the Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. She also lived in Hyde Park for 28 years before retiring to Brewster 20 years ago. She was the former office manager for Marine Optical in Roslindale.She loved spending time with her grandchildren on Greenland Pond in Brewster. She also enjoyed painting, gardening and was an active member of Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster.She leaves her husband of 61 years, Thomas J. Kelly of Brewster and her 6 children; Thomas W. Kelly and his wife Jean of Milton, Mass., Janet McCarthy and her husband Paul of Sandwich, Paul Kelly and his wife Nancy of Quincy, David Kelly and his wife Jean of Marshfield, Michael Kelly and his wife Patricia of Weymouth and Timothy P. Kelly and his wife Catherine of Marshfield. Mary also leaves her beloved 17 grandchildren.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 24 at Our Lady of the Cape Church Brewster at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rte. 134 South Dennis on Thursday, September 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.For online condolences and directions please visit www.doanebealames.com.
