Aunt Tunce was born in Morganton,N.C. to Leila and Steven Whisonant, the youngest of eight children. Her parents were farmers and homesteaded in Oklahoma and Montana when she was 8 years old, they stayed 3 years. Then settled in Rock Hill S.C. She married Samual U. Roach in 1927 and had 4 children, Samual Ray, Dorothy "Dot", Edna and Iris. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to garden and grew flowers for her beautiful yard and she grew vegetables which she canned and had wonderful Sunday dinners for her family and friends. She loved God and her church and left her family with the knowledge that she was safe in Gods hands.
