Violet was born on March 15, 1926 to George and Hattie (Saxton) Claassen in Buffalo Lake, MN. She grew up in the Buffalo Lake / Stewart area until she was 11 years old when her family moved to the Mora, MN area. She married Earle Howe on October 1, 1944. The couple lived in the Minneapolis area until moving to Princeton in 1959 where they operated a dairy farm. In addition to helping on the farm, Violet was a homemaker to her family and also worked at Fingerhut and IMI Cornelius. Earle preceded Violet in death in 1972. Violet retired in 1983 after 18 years of employment.
Violet married Marvin Guderian on July 30, 1983. The couple made their home in Princeton. They enjoyed traveling and spending time together. Violet also enjoyed painting ceramics, gardening, landscaping, embroidering and volunteering at the Elim Home's coffee shop. Violet especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband Earle; infant daughter: Joan; daughter: Nancy Weissenfluh; parents George Claassen and Hattie and August Hallin; one sister three brothers and three stepbrothers.
Visitation: 4:00 -7:00 PM Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton and also one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2009 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Princeton. Rev. Jerome Gernander will officiate.
