DEATH OF MRS. ADCOCK
The family and friends of Mrs. John Adcock were surprised and grieved to learn of her death at her home on July 4th, after a week or more of illness and intense suffering, thus passing beyond the association of husband and family of children, who will miss a devoted wife and mother's companionship, care and advice.
Della Etta Spurling was born in Monroe county, Iowa, October 20th, 1871, and departed this life at her home a short distance north of Chariton on Sunday, July 4, 1915, at the age of 43 years, 8 months and 14 days.
She was united to John A. Adcock in marriage on September 15, 1891 and seven children were born to this union: Willard, Bertha, Arthur, Paul, Bessie, Harold and Homer, all of which, with the husband, survive. Besides these she leaves two brothers, Cyrus Spurling, of St. Paul, and Willis Spurling, of Russell, and two sisters, Eva and Allie, of Russell and other relatives and numerous friends.
She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and devoted to her family. When a young woman she was converted and joined the Evangelical church at Trinity, where she held her membership until her Lord bade her come home. She had resided all her life in Iowa except one summer which was spent in Dakota.
Funeral services were held at the U. B. church in Chariton, conducted by Rev. Geo. J. Cornford and interment was made in the Chariton cemetery.
