Bernice Andrews

Bernice C. Andrews, 95, died Sept. 12, 2010, at home in Missouri City, Texas, after a battle with conjestive heart failure.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wesley Chapel CME Church in Greenville, with Rev. Harold Wright officiating.

Burial will be at Grundy Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturda, prior to the service.

She was born Sept. 25, 1914, in Leesburg, Texas, to Sarah Ann Wright and Ecotrel Champion.

She was a graduate of Center Point High School in Pittsburg. Texas in 1931.

Bernice was married in Greenville in 1933 to Ira Andrews, and to this union four children were born: Billy J Andrews, Betty J. Andrews (deceased), Bobby (Robert) G. Andrews (deceased), and Brenda J. Andrews.

Bernice was a member of Wesley Chapel CME, where she served on the Board of Trustees for many years. She was also a member of the Missionary Society, Usher Board and a member of Sunday school.

After moving to Missouri City, she attended Covenant Glen UMC under watch care. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Stafford, Texas, and the Monday Bunch which was an outlet that provided spiritual and social enjoyment for seniors. The Co-Ed Sunday school class was one of her favorite parts of Sunday worship.

Services are under the direction of Missouri City Funeral Directors at Glen Park, 419 Present Street, in Missouri City
