Last Rites Held For J. C. Ford
Normangee, August 4.-- Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the family residence for James Cooper Ford,
73, who died at his home Tuesday, July 29, 1952.
Mr. Ford was a prominent farmer-stockman and surveyor and had resided in Normangee for 33 years. He served as county surveyor for some time.
Carl Brown, former pastor of the local Methodist church, officiated at the service.
Mr. Ford is survived by five sons, Sam Seay of Baytown, Will and Lee W. of Freeport, Jim Mac of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bob of Victoria; four daughters: Mrs. Maurine Forrester, Buffalo; Mrs. Ruth Batson, Alice; Mrs. Emma Horn and Mrs. Hattie Chalberg, Freeport.
Pallbearers were L. C. Pinson, J. T. Dawkins, Percy Westmoreland, Seth Taylor, Tom Burke, M. L. Bennett, Jr.
Interment was in the Hopewell Cemetery with Cozart Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
