PFC Goudy died of food poisoning at Tokyo #5 Camp Kawasaki as a POW of the Japanese while serving with the Marine Corps. He was captured in Peking, China on December 9, 1941 while serving as a Guard for the American Embassy.
He is a 1938 graduate of Canton H.S., and went into the Marine Corps in July of 1939, and did his training at Camp Elliott, California.
He is survived by two brothers, SSgt. Doyle Goudy of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and Merle Goudy of Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Price of Chicago, and Mrs. Doris O'Connell of Canton, Illinois.
