Jerry passed away Friday at Sunnyview Home following a period of failing health.
He was the son of Alfred Lloyd and Ruth Viola Summerville Anthony.

Jerry was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chicora and attended school at New Athens Elementary School and the Rimersburg schools.
He served with the Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 488 in Bradys Bend.

He was a member of AARP, and he enjoyed birdwatching, building birdhouses, gardening and hunting.
He was a pipe fitter at Penreco in Karns City for 31 years, retiring in 1991.

Jerry married the former Lois Fern Griffith on Sept. 16, 1955, at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church near Chicora. She survives, along with two sons, Kirby Joe Anthony of Frederick, Md., and Bryce Allen Anthony and his wife, Darla, of Butler; two daughters, Charlene Mae Newbern and her husband, Patrick, of Butler, and Melinda Ruth Gilhousen and her husband, Rick, of Rimersburg; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd James Anthony and Earl Leroy Anthony; and one sister, Helen Ilene Kriebel.

Friends will be received at THE RICHARD D HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia, and later at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church near Chicora.
Services will be held at the church with the Rev. James Higgins, church pastor, officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.
