M. Berdean Bowser, 79, of Cadogan, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. Berdean was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Adrian, to the late Thomas A. Leslie and the late Estella (Johns) Leslie. Berdean was a member of the Brush Valley Brethren Church and attended the North Buffalo Grace Brethren Church, where she was also a member of the Golden Heirs. Berdean had worked at the five-and-ten of Kittanning and then the Company Store of Cadogan. She loved to cook and bake, organize bus trips for the senior citizens, spending time with her grandchildren and being involved with both her family and her church. Berdean was a member of both the Manor Township and Cadogan Senior Citizens Groups. Berdean is survived by a son, P. James and wife, Judy Bowser, of Cadogan; daughter, Linda and husband, Robert Gross, of North Warren, Pa.; sister, Eleanor "Sis" Hamilton, of Vero Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael Bowser, Jared Bowser and Emily Bowser; stepgrandchild, Stacey Gross; and great-grandchild, Kaleb Bowser. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Berdean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert H. Bowser, who died Feb. 12, 2004; a brother, Robert Leslie; and a sister, Gladys "Skeet" Weibel. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the North Buffalo Grace Brethren Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Burns officiating.
