Mildred Evadna Brannon, daughter of Alfred Pettit and Ava Itah (Harris) Miler was born September 17, 1922 in Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life June 24, 2010 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 87 years of age.
Mildred attended country school and graduated from Osceola High School. She worked in Clarinda for a brief time before her marriage to Marion "Bud" Willis Brannon on December 17, 1952 in Osceola, Iowa; four children blessed this union.
Mildred completed CNA training and worked as a Nurse's Aide for Clarke County Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was an active member of the Four Square Church, Ladies Group, knitting club, and a member of Sarah Rebekkah Lodge #57 in Osceola.
Mildred enjoyed reading, puzzles, knitting, crocheting, watching baseball (Chicago Cubs & St. Louis Cardinals), and watching college wrestling, baking and fishing. She liked to watch old movies, collected Zane Gray books, and liked horses. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Miler; grandson, Mike Brannon, sisters-in-law, Myrna Delephine Miler and Jeanine Brannon; and brother-in-law, Marty Ellis.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Marion "Bud" Brannon; daughter, Mary Britt of Osceola; son, Norman "Butch" Brannon (Lita) of Osceola; daughters, Rhonda Earls (Tom) of Humeston, Sharon Cole (Tom) of Osceola; grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" Britt and Ryan Britt of Osceola, Jon Pena of Grimes, Ava Brannon of Chicago, IL, Tommy F. Earls (Amber) of Harvard, Melissa Kidd (Chris) of Wichita, KS, April Melton (Paul) of Mooresboro, NC, Bobby Cole (January) of Leon, T.J. Cole of Osceola, Caleb Cole (Chantel) of Osceola; great grandchildren, Bailey Earls, Thomas M. Earls, Ty Earls, Chelsey Melton, Gabriel Cole, Maddy Cole, Nicholas Cole, Bobby Wilson; sister, Louise Thompson (Wayne "Red") of Osceola; brother, Don Miler of Osceola; sister-in-law, Joan Ellis of Des Moines; special friends, Hanne Pinard, George Michalmann Samantha and Brandon Pinard all of Osceola; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
