Harriet Elizabeth Beard passed away Wednesday, August 25, at South Park Health Care Center in Oklahoma City. Born Sept. 7, 1928, in Elwell, Mich., she graduated from Alma High School in 1946 and married her husband of nearly 60 years, Merle Willis Beard, on June 7, 1947. She loved caring for her family, traveling with her husband, playing games with her friends and praising God with a song. She is survived by two brothers, Norman Leach, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Virgil Leach, of Cordas Lake, Ariz.; two sisters, Pat Jansen, of Burkburnett, Tx., and Sharon Awad, of Flushing, Mich.; a daughter, Gloria Gayron, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two sons, Bob Beard, of Stroud, Okla., and Fred Beard, of Norman, Okla.; grandchildren Brendon, Stephanie, Andy, Amanda, and Thomas; and great-grandson Taran. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, and her parents, Kenneth and Zelma Leach.

Services were held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Monday, August 30, at 10 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
