Juanita worked as a volunteer with the Lutheran Child and Family Services in Hardin, Illinois. She belonged to the Brussels American Legion Auxiliary.
Jacob died in 1978.

After Jacob died, Juanita married Everett Leo "Abe" Eberlin on 21 Feb 1981. He died in 1994.

At the time of her death at Calhoun Care Center, Juanita was 77 years, 7 months and 22 days old.
She was survived by 3 sons; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Coreta Sumpter of Rogers, Arkansas, and Wanda Santos of California; and 2 brothers, Charles Cargill of Oklahoma, and Darrell Cargill of Perry, Oklahoma.
In addition to her husbands, Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother, Earl Cargill.
Visitation was held at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Brussels, Illinois. Funeral services were conducted there at 10 a.m. on 11 Jun 1999.
Juanita was buried next to her first husband, Jacob.
