Lived in Amador for 12 years
Imogene Cantando, 76, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at Kindred Hospital in San Leandro.
Mrs. Cantando was born March 16, 1925 in Tampa, Texas, and attended school there [sic-born in Burkburnett and attended school in Tampa].
She worked as a material handler for 15 years for the Foxboro Company in San Jose and lived most of her life in San Jose before coming to Amador County 12 years ago.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Cantando of Volcano, and [living] of Pine Grove; daughter, [living] of Wisconsin; sister, Ruth Casilla [sic-Cassalia] of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Elmer B. Cantando, in 1990.
There will be a private family service. Inurnment will be at the Presidio National Cemetery in San Francisco. Arrangements are being handled by Daneri Mortuary in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice."
