Katherine Faulkner Tays, 72, widow of Shirley Ray Tays, died at 2:10pm Monday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
A native of Wolfe County, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Napier Faulkner. Mrs. Tays was a personal caregiver.
Survivors include 11 children, Charles Faulkner of MI, Scott Tays, William Tays and Mark Tays, all of Winchester, Janis Wallace, Starr Richardson, Mary Wells, Nikola Bailey, Scarlett Johnson and Sue Puckett, all of Winchester and Cindy Queen of Hazard; a step-son, Ricky Wright of TN; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her spouse and parents, Mrs. Tays was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Martin Tays.
