Elizabeth Starkes was born January 6,1888. She was the daughter of L. Berry and Jenny Maddux Starkes. She married Thomas Frank Paul in January 1906. Together, they had 13 children; 7 of whom lived into adulthood. Elizabeth is buried in the Douthit Cemetary in Palestine, TX. Hers is a double gravestone meant for her husband to be laid to rest beside her, however, having outlived his wife for 20 years, Thomas Frank is buried in Denison, TX.
