Fred Chapel Cook, aged 74, of 1537 Arnold street, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday after an illness of three hours in the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Andert, with whom he resided. Born in Lawton, Mich. Aug. 20, 1871, he came here 31 years ago from Michigan.
On April 10, 1898, in Wexford, Mich., he married Bessie May Bradford. Besides Mrs. Andert, he is survived by two sons Norman and Neal, both of South Bend, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four brothers, Frank and Joseph, Traverse City, Mich.; Martin, Cadillac, Mich., and Ira, Kenton, Mich.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today and until 10 p.m. Thursday in the Hay funeral home. Friday morning the body will be sent to Wexford for funeral service at 2:30 a.m. in the Methodist church there. Burial will be in Cornell cemetery, Wexford.
