Hattie Maxine Wessel, 92, of Battle Creek died December 20, 2009 at home.
She was born September 10, 1917, the daughter of Arthur A. and Verna B. (Garey) Anderson in Sioux City, Iowa. Hattie graduated from Sioux City High School and worked in the accounting department for Federal Home Life & Casualty Insurance Company.
Hattie is survived by her sons, Fred (Bernice Sutherland) Wessel of Battle Creek, Robert (Jill) Wessel of Elkridge, Maryland; daughter, Kathy (Mike) Van Vleet of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and sister, Ivy (William) Roberts of Sterling Heights. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert Anderson and Arthur Anderson.
Hattie enjoyed playing the piano.
No services are scheduled at this time.
The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
