Mrs. Maria Vance died early yesterday morning at St. John's hospital. A coroner's inquest scheduled for today will probably establish the fact that her death was due to exposure and old age. A week ago, Mrs. Vance's husband died, following the discovery of the aged couple on the floor of their home in a destitute condition. They lived at 2408 South Tenth street. Fighting against poverty at the age of four score, they had given up the struggle, and were found by neighbors, the old man desperately ill, and Mrs. Vance in a semi-conscious state. Mrs. Vance was believed to have been recovering, her illness having been mainly due to exposure and old age. She died yesterday morning just after she had finished eating breakfast.
