Miss Aline Boyd, a retired school teacher of Knoxville City Schools and a native of Cookeville, died July 26 following a brief illness.
Her death occurred at the Cookeville General Hospital.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cookeville City Cemetery.
Rev. David Campbell, pastor of the Firat Presbyterian Church of which Miss Boyd was a long time member, will officiate.
She was a native of Cookeville, residing at the Boyd home place on N. Jefferson Ave., where her parents, the late Alvin Whitten and Mary Goodpasture Boyd spent their married life. Her father was one of the first lawyers of Putnam County. Two brothers, Judge Ernest Boyd and Grover Boyd followed their father's footsteps.
Miss Boyd was a member of pioneer families of Putnam County and was interested in the educational welfare and religious elements of her native county and town. She was a active member of the Old Walton Road Daughter of the American Revolution chapter.
Survivors are her sister, Miss Ova Boyd, Cookeville; Mrs. Marjorie Boyd Burt, Pittsview, Ala; brother, Grover C. Boyd, Knoxville.
