Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, Edward was not officially declared by the military as being dead until October 2, 1945.

Edward served as a Staff Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-17G #42-39935, 369th Bomber Squadron, 306th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 4, 1942 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Single, without dependents. He was the son of Theodore and Agnes Zebrasky.

Edward was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-17 was believed to have been attacked by German aircraft and crash into the sea during the war. He was awarded the "Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster" and the Purple Heart.
