Clifton G. Stufflebean, 67, 6021 Pryor St., died Friday evening at a local hospital following a 2 1/2 year illness.
He was a native of Hemple, Mo., and a lifelong resident of St. Joseph. Mr. Stufflebean was employed by the Thomas Markets for 17 years as a meatcutter, retiring two years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in the European Theater.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Stufflebean, of the home, three sons, Clifton G. Stufflebean Jr., Hemple, and David Alan Stufflebean and Stephen Wayne Stufflebean, both of St. Joseph; two brothers, Eugene Stufflebean, St. Joseph, and Vernon Stufflebean, Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Naomi Herbert and Darlene Clark, both of St. Joseph; three grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Meierhoffer-Fleeman Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
