Son of Mrs. Charles Gluck who resided in Rochester, New York.

Richard served as a Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class, U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard, U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided at 303 Wisconsin Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

On the night of July 25, 1945 a plane piloted by Ensign J.T. Williams failed to return from a anti-shipping strike. He, along with his two crewman, were declared missing when they did not return from this flight.

Richard, one of the two crewmen, was declared "Missing In Action" from this flight during the war.

He was awarded a Purple Heart.
