Edgar Messner, 59, of 510 N. 86th St., East St. Louis, was pronounced dead on arrival at 9 a. m. Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital, East St. Louis. He suffered an apparent heart attack in his home.
Funeral services are to be held Tuesday at 1 p. m. in the Holten Funeral Home, East St. Louis. The Rev. Edward Maul, pastor of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, East St. Louis, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p. m. today.
Born in Millstadt, Mr. Messner lived in East St. Louis 45 years. He was an employe of the Frisco Railroad, East St. Louis, for 20 jrears, retiring five years ago. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks local 44, and the Pythias Eureka Lodge 81. For the past two years, he had served as a watchman for the Edison Co. in St. Louis. Surviving is his wife Louise.
