To : C.O. 2nd Engineers.
Send rations to Lucy unless further instructions. French counter attack failed. Boche advancing; are not far now. Are being heavily gassed and shelled, although casualties so far this morning are only about 10, for E & F Cos., all within last half hour.

[Two other men of Company E died the same day. They were Corp. John O. Jenkins and Corp. Charles L. Joy.]
